Our Story

The name ‘Triple Farms’ originates from Alan’s grandfather, father and uncle (Alan, Jim and Tom respectively) when they farmed together in the King Country from the early 1970’s to 2018. The name carries a special significance for Alan and Kerri, and they are proud to be carrying on the family farm name.

Triple Farms is a family owned and operated farm run by Alan and Kerri Blake. Located 20 minutes north of Taumarunui. They own 730 hectares split over two properties, with 450 hectares in Waimiha and 270 hectares in Ongarue. The Ongarue farm is steep hill country where the Triple Farms stud is based, while Waimiha is rolling hill country and used as a breeding and finishing block for commercial stock only. Over these two properties they run 3000 breeding ewes and replacements hoggets, as well as 250 breeding cows and replacements. They finish all of their lambs and the majority of their steers, and non-replacements heifers are sold forward store or finished depending on the season.

Alan and Kerri started a Coopdale stud in 2022 after struggling to find the right genetics to suit their commercial farming system and breeding goals, and through this they discovered their passion for stud breeding. In late 2023 they took over the Coopworth and Suftex flocks from Ashgrove Genetics, which was run by the Parsons Family and Travis Pymm in Kaipara, Northland. Ashgrove Genetics held their final on-farm ram sale on 10th November, 2023, and the stud moved to Alan’s and Kerri’s Ongarue property in January 2024.

Together, Alan and Kerri have two sons called Archie and Finn.
